Lip enlargement or augmentation is a non-surgical procedure in which crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) is applied to the lip using a small needle. Its advantage is complete biocompatibility so there is no need to perform allergological tests before the application. HA binds water to itself, thus hydrating the tissue and maintaining its volume. It is a biodegradable substance, the body breaks it down over time, so the effect is temporary, about half a year.
